Kirsty grew up in England, where her passion for horses began at a young age. She started riding when she was just six years old, quickly developing a deep love for the sport. At age 16 Kirsty attended the equestrian college, Bishop Burton College, where she received her National Diploma in Horse and Business Management.
After immigrating to the US, Kirsty began working as a trainer in Florida where she learned valuable things about the American horse industry. Throughout this time Kirsty began breaking and training ponies for the hunter ring. After almost 15 years of working with young riders who were competing on the A circuit, Kirsty decided to dedicate herself full time to training ponies, and Wrighthill Equestrian was born.
Throughout her career Kirsty's teaching journey has been intertwined with the world of pony sales, where she helped connect numerous young riders with their ideal ponies. This experience allows her to guide riders, trainers and families in making informed decisions about their equestrian partnerships. She understands the pressures of finding the right pony for a child rider, and the importance of making sure both pony and child's needs are met.
Kirsty hopes that by being upfront about what a pony needs from a rider, trainer, and program, that trainers and families can make the best decision for their pony goals.
